Clinical Laboratory Consultant - 45117
Clinical Laboratory Consultants (CLCs) inspect physician office laboratories (POLs) performing laboratory testing within New York State. CLCs are responsible for conducting on-site evaluations of laboratory staff qualifications and testing procedures including the evaluation of facility standard operating procedures and review of laboratory records; reporting of findings to laboratory directors and technical staff; documenting findings in descriptive narratives and laboratory evaluation reports; and determining the acceptance of a facility's proposed remediation by reviewing the plan of correction.

Salary Range:
From $69603 to $88124 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Provisional:
A bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological science, or in medical technology, and a New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist license or license eligibility, and four years of post-bachelor's, professional-level laboratory experience in a blood bank, tissue bank, or clinical laboratory; OR a master's degree in chemical, physical, or biological science, or in medical technology may be substituted for two years of the required experience; OR a doctoral degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science, or a New York State license to practice medicine (MD or DO) may be substituted for three years of the required experience. A New York State Laboratory Director Certificate of Qualification may substitute for the New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist license. Selected candidates will be required to take and pass an appropriate Civil Service examination after appointment and be immediately reachable from the resulting eligible list. Preferred
Qualifications:
Knowledge of clinical laboratory testing quality assurance, audits, and applicable laws and regulations. Ability to apply knowledge from clinical laboratory settings to regulatory enforcement and compliance activities. Ability to work independently as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
