Summary:
Manage and operate systems skillfully to track the stages of benefit applications and appeals processes that will provide concrete statistical data.
The EES Specialist must be resourceful by providing consumers with options and have the ability to explain the possible consequences regarding that consumer's specific financial situation.
The EES Specialist will act as a liaison between the consumer and governmental agencies, until such a time where the consumer has been educated and can advocate for him or herself.
Essential Accountabilities:
Maintain and encourage confidentially in respect to HIPPA Laws at all times.
Screen all consumers to assess their eligibility for both private and/or governmental benefits.
Assist the consumer in completing all applications necessary to apply, appeal, and maintain governmental and/or private benefits.
Be prepared to travel to all governmental/private agencies (i.
e.
ALJ Hearings, face-to-face interviews and Social Security visits etc.
).
Be knowledgeable of your consumer's financial status.
Basic mathematical skills are required to maintain accurate consumer balances.
Prepare consumer allowances as necessary.
Prepare narrative; excel spreadsheet and statistical reports indicating the consumers' benefits status in a timely fashion.
Review, process, scan, document and file all incoming mail/documents as required.
Notify department members of all emergencies that may arise.
Assist in the event of EES Department staff shortage, such as vacations, holidays, leaves of absences and vacancies, etc.

Maintain accurate information in the department database system for all consumer documents.
Provide in-service training to WellLife Network.
Mental Health/Developmental Disabilities staff and external agencies as needed.

Job QualificationsAssociate Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
Must be able to exercise good follow- up and documentation skills, have knowledge of Microsoft office application software.
Work experience with Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities populations is required.
Must have a valid New York State driver's license and possession of a vehicle for use while on company time.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
